Grove Estate welcomes larger group gatherings during regular trading hours, with no need to book a private venue. You’ll share the space while enjoying our wines, food, and scenic vineyard setting.

Hire Fee
Large Event Booking Fees & Information
Depending on the size of your group and the nature of your gathering, Grove Estate may require your event to be booked as a private event or apply a large group booking fee to secure the booking. This fee is non-refundable and will be confirmed with you at the time of inquiry and booking.
If the day of your non-private event presents an opportunity for Grove Estate to adjust its regular service into a more public, function-style event, we may do so. This approach creates a lively and enjoyable atmosphere that keeps all guests happy while ensuring the day remains viable and marketable.
Venue Arrangements & Decorations
Table Arrangements
Your booking reserves a specific table or area. Please do not occupy other tables or barrels with guests, food, or belongings, as we may be reserving those spaces for other customers. If additional space is required, please arrange this with us at least 1 month prior to your booking.
Furniture & Decorations
Please do not move furniture such as tables and chairs.
Casual decorations — like table runners, a few balloons, or small items on the tables — are welcome. For baby showers or similar events, a balloon garland is also fine. We kindly ask that you share your plans with us beforehand and keep decorations relatively “low-key,” as there may be other customers present.
To preserve the character of the venue, we do not allow decorations that transform the overall look — this includes anything on the walls, tablecloths, or large decorative installations. Confetti is not permitted.
Food & Beverage Policy
BYO Beverages
BYO beverages are not permitted — this includes all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, with the sole exception of still water. In special circumstances, Grove Estate may approve a small quantity of regulated BYO beverages for a fee.
BYO Food & External Catering
- Guests may bring their own food for a per person or flat rate fee, to be confirmed by Grove Estate.
- External caterers are only permitted for private events, and attract a flat or per person fee.
- External caterers must be licensed and approved by Grove Estate.
- Grove Estate’s kitchen, equipment, and facilities cannot be used by any external providers under any circumstances. This is only permitted for some private events & weddings.
- Grove Estate accepts no responsibility or financial liability for the delivery of food services from external caterers.
Payments & Confirmations
- Group wine tasting and BYO food charges must be paid in a single transaction.
- Guest numbers for BYO food arrangements must be confirmed at least 48 hours prior, with payment made in one transaction.
- Menu selections for internal catering packages must be confirmed at least 14 days before your event. Once confirmed, catering will be charged in full and is non-refundable.
Menus & Pricing
Grove Estate’s food and beverage menus are subject to change. We reserve the right to amend menus at any time, including adjustments to pricing. Clients are liable for the menu pricing applicable at the time of their event.

Music & Entertainment
Music & Vendors
Playing your own music is not permitted. Grove Estate provides music through our speaker system to create a suitable atmosphere for all customers.
Confirmation of Booking
By confirming your reservation with us, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions outlined here.
To secure a booking, you must pay any agreed deposit (if required). Once paid, deposits are not refundable under any circumstance. If the deposit is not paid by the invoice due date, Grove Estate reserves the right to cancel the booking.
Price & Package Variation
Our pricing may increase. Clients are liable for the prices that are applicable at the time of the booking.
Grove Estate reserves the right to change it’s packages and increase pricing in line with inflation of associated cost and other business needs.
Finalisation of Event Details
Final guest numbers, package and menu selections, dietary requirements and event details must be finalised 14 days prior to the reservation.
Reduction to guests numbers or package downgrades will not be refunded after 14 days out.
Payment Milestones
Depending on the size and nature of your event, milestone payments may be required. Our standard schedule is:
- 30% due 6 months prior
- 30% due 3 months prior
- Balance due 14 days before the event
For bookings made within these timeframes, the payments due up to that point will be required at the time of booking.
Cancellations
If the reservation is cancelled by the client, funds paid are not refundable under any circumstances. If the reservation cannot proceed due to government restrictions, illness, or any other reason, paid funds can be reallocated towards another event rescheduled within 6 months of the original booking.
Losses & Damages
The clients are financially responsible for any damages or losses to Grove Estate’s property (including glassware) that are caused by the client, their guests or vendors. Fees will be accordingly charged to the client's card on file for lost, stolen or damaged property.
Grove Estate is not responsible
for any damages or losses to property that is brought by the clients, their guests or vendors.
Security
Grove Estate may require external security for certain group reservations. If security is deemed necessary, the cost will be invoiced to the client at cost price. Security requirements are usually confirmed at the time of booking; however, Grove Estate reserves the right to engage external security at any stage, at the client’s expense, if management considers it necessary.
Public Holiday Surcharge
Reservations on public holidays will incur a 10% surcharge on all goods, services and fees.
Adherence to Law & Policy
Clients and their guests must comply to all
applicable laws and Grove Estate policies such as House Policy, RSA and closure times. Failure to do so may result in booking cancellation, removal from premises or surcharges to client.
Children & Under 18s
Children and under 18s are absolutely welcome! As Grove Estate is a licenced venue and there are other customers around, please ensure children are supervised by their legal parent or guardian.
