2010 Sydney International Wine Show:
Two trophies awarded to Grove Estate wines
February 20, 2010

Still flushed from recent successes, Grove Estate's 'Sommita' Nebbiolo 2007 has also just been awarded the TED RADKE PERPETUAL TROPHY for "Best Table Wine Made from a Lesser Recognised Grape Variety" at the Sydney International Wine Show.

The 2007 'Sommita' Nebbiolo is a multi-award winning wine that has previously won Gold at the 2009 Winewise Small Vignerons Awards, Gold at the 2009 Sydney International Wine Show, Silver at the 2008 Alternative Varietals Wine Show and Bronze at the 2008 Murrumbateman Cool Climate Wine Show.

This absolutely fabulous drop was made by winemaker Richard Parker and viticulturalist Brian Mullany.

To our delight, this win was followed by another, when Grove Estate 'Cellar Block' Shiraz Viognier 2008 took out the FILDES LABELS PERPETUAL TROPHY for "Best Lighter Bodied Dry Red Table Wine of Competition".

The 'Cellar Block' Shiraz Viognier 2008 was made by winemaker Tim Kirk and viticulturalist Brian Mullany, and has previously won 'Gold Top 40' at the 2008 NSW Wine Awards and a 'Bronze' at the 2009 Royal Adelaide Wine Show.

A teriffic time was had by all who attended the luncheon to announce the 2010 winners in the Grand Ballroom of the Shrangri-La Hotel Sydney. To say we were delighted with the resuts is a serious understatement.
